The polymerase chain reaction test allows for infections to be detected very early.
PCR (polymerase chain reaction) is a molecular biotechnology method used to amplify DNA tremendously, thereby allowing the DNA to be detected at very low levels.
RNA can also be detected after they have been converted to DNA by a reverse transcriptase enzyme.
Thus applying this technique for the detection of pathogens allows for the infections to be diagnosed at the very early stages.
